A Happier Holiday for the Children at Montefiore Hospital

The members of Esquire-Goodfellowship Lodges made the holidays just a bit brighter for the children at Children's Hospital at Montefiore. As part of their annual Thanksgiving Hospital Visit the lodges made a significant contribution of toys for the holiday. About the Dixie Fund.

In 1954 PDGC WIlliam D. Wernicoff and his brothers of Esquire Lodge #635 started a tradition they never thought would grow into what it is today. Dixie, as he was better know, with a few lodge brothers brought books and toys to a local Brooklyn hospital where a fellow Brother's son was hospitalized.

Thanksgiving 2011 was the 58 consecutive Thanksgiving we made this journey to visit hospitalize children. The Dixie Fund of Esquire Goodfellowship Lodge # 635 was proud to visit 23 hospitals throughout New York City, Long Island and New Jersey visiting over 1200 children.
