Knights donate toys to
psychiatric center
|
 ORANGETOWN:
The Dramatic Order Knights of Khorassan Habibi Temple 72
donated toys to the Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center
in Orangeburg. The members of the club selected Harvey
Rosenshein and Fred Peltz to head a committee to purchase
toys and supplies for the Rockland Children's Psychiatric
Center after learning of their holiday needs from an article
printed in The Journal News. Toys were purchased with funds
collected from membership dues and other fundraising
activities. On Dec. 17, Rosenshein and Peltz delivered the
toys along with club members Morty Hirsh, Roger Siegel, Mike
Sukenick and Bruce Sicherman.

Bubbie's Knight Out
|
|
It was a cold and raining night on October 15, 2009 when
Rex Solomon Utopia Lodge 400 honored the wife of the
Grand Chancellor, Bubbie Bernzweig, at the Lady of the
Knight Honor Night at Temple Emanu-El located at 1880
Rockaway Parkway, Brooklyn, NY. The meeting was MC’ed by
PGC Martin Fasting. Many speakers spoke lovingly of
Bubbie’s support of her husband; the most eloquent was
her husband Jerome Bernszweig. Chancellor Commanded
Scott Kohn presented Bubbie with travel luggage for her
trip to the next Grand Lodge convention. Bubbie, as she
is so affectionately named, offered her thanks to Rex
Solomon Utopia Lodge and all those who attended. The
Honor Knight was opened to all and over 145 Knights,
Sisters, Bubbie’s family and friends visited. A light
repast was offered to the early arrivals and coffee and
cake after the closing. –Julian

Pythian Day at the NYS

On Wednesday, June 17, lawmakers in the NYS Assembly
took a few minutes from their active schedule of
deliberations during the final days of the
legislative session to welcome a 7-member delegation
of the Knights of Pythias to acknowledge the 140th
Anniversary of the Domain of New York.
More than 70 members of the NYS Assembly signed on
to a Legislative Resolution commemorating the 140th
Anniversary of the Knights of Pythias, Domain of New
York. The Legislative Resolution was co-sponsored by
Assemblymembers Dr. Joel Miller and Nancy Calhoun.
Assemblymembers Greg Ball, Alec Brook-Krasny, Aileen
Gunther, Ellen Jaffee, Charles Lavine, Alan Maisel,
Marc Molinaro, Robert Reilly, Joe Saladino and Ken
Zebrowski also greeted the Pythian contingent from
across the state. There are seven Assemblymen and
one state Senator who are Brother Knights. (View
